A 12-year-old girl, who got pregnant after being allegedly raped by her stepfather, delivered a baby boy at a government hospital in Mumbai.

The girl, a resident of neighbouring Thane city, delivered the baby at JJ Hospital on Monday, said a senior doctor of the medical facility.

“The newborn would be handed over to an orphanage for which the girl’s family members have given consent,” said obstetrician Rekha Davar, who is Head of Department of Gynaecology at J J Hospital.

The minor’s pregnancy was discovered at very late stage (after seven months). The girl later told her mother that she had been repeatedly raped by her stepfather, resulting in the pregnancy, police said.

“The baby was delivered through Cesarean section surgery since the girl was of very tender age. The baby weights 2.8kg and both the mother and child are doing fine in the neo-natal intensive care unit,” said Davar.

She told PTI, “the minor girl was brought to our hospital by an NGO after a police case was filed. Considering the girl’s age, we admitted her 15 days in advance to provide her full pre-natal care.”

According to another physician, “initially, when the girl complained of abdomen pain (in July), the doctor prescribed painkillers as he didn’t suspect she was pregnant. When painkillers did not work, a sonography was done and it was discovered she was more than seven months pregnant.” A senior officer of Kolsewadi Police Station in Thane, where the case was registered, said, “In July, a case was registered against the accused, who died in a hospital due to illness.”

This view can also be contradicted by the elder generation of bollywood stars who are still going strong with their love marriages and as a result of young breed of stars from them propping up every year. here I would also like to state I am also a result of a love marriage.
A young man of 32 years who is an Aircraft Engineer by profession could not find a suitable wife on his own. His father would always complain to people that his son is not capable in finding a wife for himself. He was a non achiever. An achiever finds his/ her a partner and gets settled in today’s life.

Marriages are meant to be compatible, loving and trust worthy. He or she may be drifted apart for some point of time but will definitely return back to his/her spouse. The ugly part of dowry does nor exist in love marriages. Love marriages are normally nuclear families where as arranged marriages are of an extended family.

Sea turtles arriving at Costa Rica’s Ostional Wildlife Refuge to lay eggs face a new threat from swarms of tourists, who’ve been disrupting the creatures’ annual nesting ritual.

An unprecedented number of tourists visited the beach daily this month, with some entering through unauthorized access points, to witness the hundreds of thousands of turtles laying eggs there, according to the local Tico Times.

The tourists stood in the way, touched the turtles, stood on top of their nests and even placed children on top of them and snapped photos with flash cameras, forcing many of the creatures to return to the sea without laying their eggs.

Costa Rican authorities have launched an investigation into the crowds’ irresponsible behavior as they seriously undermined the government’s efforts to recover the population of olive ridley sea turtles, which are listed as a vulnerable or threatened species.

According to the World Wildlife Fund, the Ostional Wildlife Refuge is one of the two most important areas in the world for olive ridley sea turtle nesting.

Although collecting and selling sea turtle eggs are legal there, people are only permitted to do so from the first three days of each nesting period, as the eggs left behind by the first wave of turtles are often destroyed by turtles arriving later or by high tides.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is the latest to step forward to help the drought-struck farmers of Marathwada, according to ABP Majha. After actor Nana Patekar established Naam Foundation, Kumar has pledged Rs 90 lakhs to the cause.

Akshay has decided to contribute Rs 15 lakhs a month, for six consecutive months. Akshay’s PA will be visiting Beed district on Tuesday to distribute these Rs 15 lakhs.

On Monday, Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane had announced that he had donate Rs 5 lakhs for drought affected farmers. He had made the donation to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

It is expected that more Bollywood stars would soon come forward to contribute for the cause.

A few days ago, the MNS had demanded that Bollywood donate money to drought relief in Maharashtra. The party had threatened to stop movie screenings if the film industry did not come forward to help.

A 40-year-old woman was allegedly paraded half naked on a donkey by Panchayat members on the suspicion of being involved in a murder case at Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district, police said on Monday, a PTI report stated.

“The panchayat members stripped down the victim, blackened her face and paraded her naked on a donkey in Thurabad village here on Saturday evening, on the suspicion of being involved in the murder of her nephew Vardi Singh,” said Yogesh Chauhan, SHO Charbhuja police station.

A case was registered against 39 people under various sections of the IPC following the complaint filed by Uday Singh, the victim’s husband on Sunday, he said.

Singh’s family had approached the Panchayat suspecting the role of the victim in the death of her nephew, police said.

District Collector KC Verma, SP Sweta Dhankar and other officials visited the village after the incident.
