Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has added 457 residential units to the state’s housing pipeline, with Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma launching four Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) projects across Jaipur, Kishangarh and Bhiwadi on 17 October 2026.
The launch was held at the Constitution Club in Jaipur in the presence of Urban Development and Housing Minister Jhabar Singh Khara and Jaipur Mayor Sunil Kothari.
What has been launched
The largest component is a block of 144 MIG-B flats for accredited journalists at Indira Gandhi Nagar, Sector 9, Jagatpura, Jaipur. The building has a basement, stilt level and nine floors. Each flat has a built-up area of 118.38 sq m and a super built-up area of 154.639 sq m, with an estimated cost of Rs 74.68 lakh per flat.
The other three projects are: the next phase of Greenwood Horizon at Pratap Nagar, Jaipur (146 units); 90 independent houses on Khoda Ganesh Road, Kishangarh; and 77 flats at Aravali Vihar, Bhiwadi.
Who can apply
The journalist flats are meant for accredited, full-time journalists working in Rajasthan who depend on journalism for their livelihood, with an annual family income above Rs 3 lakh. Allotment will be by lottery, subject to eligibility and income-based preferences.
Why it matters
The launch spreads new supply across a metro (Jaipur), a tier-2 city (Kishangarh) and an industrial NCR-linked town (Bhiwadi), mixing apartments and independent houses. Government-backed housing boards add affordable and mid-income supply at a time when buyers look for credible, delivery-focused projects. Buyers should check the official RHB notifications for brochures, registration dates and final pricing before applying.
