It was a pair of tongs that got Amy Jackson her role in ‘Singh is Bliing’, her second Bollywood film after ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’. The 23-yearold actress had just landed from London after a nine-hour flight. Her make-up man Adrian and hairdresser Asif picked her up from the airport. En route, Asif decided to stop by filmmaker Ashvini Yardi’s office to pick , up the tongs he had left behind. READ:

“Ashvini and I chatted about many things but not this film. Back then Kriti (Sanon) was on board. But when I, Shankar’s film was releasing, I was told that Ashvini wanted to meet me,” Amy reminisces. Kriti was no longer a part of the film by then and Ashvini, who was scouting for a replacement, remembered Amy from their earlier meeting. “And here I am,” she laughs. No problem on being the second choice? “Its fate, I’m happy,” she shrugs. Amy was also in talks for the female lead in Salman had Khan’s Kick but she a contract with Shankar and couldn’t do a film till I was done. “It took two-and-half years and I put everything on hold during the time. Working with Shankar is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity,” she reasons.”But

But for now there’s Akshay Kumar, whose ‘Namastey London’ was the first Bollywood film the girl from Liverpool saw. In ‘Singh Is Bliing’ she plays Sarah, an Indian girl from abroad. “I have lots of lines in English but I’ve still been taking Hindi lessons, along with training in mixed martial arts and kick-boxing since I have many action scenes in the film. Hindi is far easier a language to pick up than Tamil. I am doing three South films with Dhanush, Vijay and Udhayanidhi each. After working in South for so long, my Tamil is pretty good. And now that I’m back in Mumbai, it’s time to brush up on my Hindi,” she says in an angrezi accent. The actress recently did a documentary style travel show for the BBC. “It’s about how girls dress and feel. We shot in London, Greece, Italy and France,” says Amy, who’s been globe trotting since she began modelling at 16. “Acting is my passion but I like hosting shows too. My dad did a radio show. I was on it when I was seven. So now you know that the showbiz bug bit me real ly early,” she laughs. She’s been attracting many second looks while we’ve been talking and that brings up the subject of love, ishq, visk. Amy who was sup posed to be dating her first co-star Prateik now admits to being single. “I have no time for a relationship. It’s too much drama anyway. I’d like to keep the ishq visk for the screen for now,” she asserts.

Priyanka Chopra has been a busy woman these days. In the past couple of months she has been juggling between the shoots of Prakash Jha’s Gangaajal 2, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani and ABC’s international TV show Quantico. Bhaag Johnny will launch its first song today, Daddy Mummy, picturised on lead actor Kunal Kemmu and the sizzling Urvashi Rautela. What makes the film team upbeat about this number is that it is a Hindi version of a Tamil chartbuster created by Devi Sri Prasad that went viral.

Sensing the potential of this South Indian hit number, Bollywood producer and music baron Bhushan Kumar, producer of Bhaag Johnny, acquired the rights for his Shivam Nair-directed movie that also features Zoa Morani and Mandana Karimi.

Urvashi attributes bagging the song to her good equation with the producers. “I’ve previously worked with them for the song ‘Love Dose’, and I also have a three-film deal with them. When I heard that Gifty will be at the helm, I knew I had to do it. More so after all the praise I had heard about him from Honey while shooting ‘Love Dose’,” says Urvashi, who describes the ‘Daddy Mummy’ number as super-hot. The actress, who is trained in various dance forms — bharatnatyam, kathak, jazz, ballet and belly dancing — says the film producers were aware of her dancing skills and they wanted someone who they felt would do justice to the moves. “It’s a hardcore dance number, requiring high energy and at the same time, it is very stylised,” enthuses Urvashi, who borrowed inspiration from Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry for her look in this sultry number.

Interestingly, they didn’t really rehearse until the day of shoot. This helped Kunal and her to be a lot more spontaneous. Besides performing hardcore moves, Urvashi says she also gave choreography inputs for the song that was shot in just one-and-a-half days. “It’s a proper Gifty track in every sense,” she says. About working with Kunal, she says, “It was good working with Kunal though our interaction was limited to just a couple of days when the actual shoot was taking place.”

From Shahid and Alia’s smashing fresh pairing to hilarious moments in the trailer, each and every element fit perfectly. One thing however that made our jaws drop was Alia’s SMOKIN’ HOT form in the pink bikini! The actress took our breath away as she casually walked on in her two piece attire, which even made Sasha smile, as seen in the trailer. Be it her well toned body or the way she carried herself, Alia nailed it and we loved it!

The actress launched the trailer of the film along with co-star Shahid today, and confessed that she had worked really hard to get that bod for the bikini scene. Well Alia, your hard work has surely paid off! This isn’t the first time the beauty has sported a bikini though. The actress wore one in her debut film Student Of The Year. That one was bright yellow in colour and Alia wore the two piece with a sarong.

He is very sorted and knows his mind clearly. And he tells them, ‘I would like your daughter’s hand in marriage.’ But I wanted some time. So with their permission we started to get to know each other.”

And now that they are finally ready to take their relationship to the next level, Asin officially announces her wedding date stating, “Rahul and I have been together for almost four years . I will get married by the end of this year.”
